Summer time!

7/13/2016

Well here we are in the middle of the summer at the childrens’ home and it’s HOT, but that’s what it is every summer. All is well. There are still no emergencies, no dire needs. God is, was and always will be our portion!

We just had graduation, all the kids advanced and did well. Rubi graduated from primary to secondary school and in the Mexican tradition we had a graduation ceremony complete with the President elect of Nuevo Padilla and other city dignitaries, others included were school administrators and teachers.
The big tent was set up to shade us while we had the graduation and the meal afterwards. Luis and Lucy did a great job in getting it all arranged.
After the graduation we all had an opportunity to lay hands on the children of the childrens’ home and declare Gods blessing on them. Wish you could have been there! Our hearts go out to children, not one should have to go through life wondering if any one cares or what they are going to eat or where they’re going to stay.

Not a lot is different at the childrens’ home. We did have a 16 year old boy come to the home that we tried to help, however too many “old habits” led him to run away.  It’s so important to try and get them at a young age.
We are hoping to receive several children in August but as you and I know, it is what we pray that we get the ones God wants us to have and when He wants us to have them.

In one case Pastor Tavita is trying to get a mom to send her two daughters to the children’s home but the mom sends them to beg at the bus station, using them as a source of income, so sad. Hopefully the mom will allow us to care for them.
Thanks to Carla Mansee and her group, our Children’s Home family had the opportunity to go to the Playa (beach) at LaPesca about 60 miles east on the Gulf. When I first went to LaPesca in March of 1977 it was a little sleepy fishing village; you either had to fly in and land on a dirt airstrip that was crooked like a dogs hind leg or come in on a four wheel drive on trail, now it is a thriving resort. Not Cancun but doing well.
It is also where we held a medical campaign. I know all the “KIDS” young and old had a great time.
Again I personally want to thank each person that has given a penny through SME ministries. Be it for the children’s home, for Pastor Tavita, Dr. Reyna or monies that were un-designated and we were able to share with other ministries like Casa de Dios Sus Manos Extendidas in Xico.  Only eternity will reveal the lives it has and will effect for Christ. This is our purpose, our drive and our passion!  Not by just preaching but by “doing”.  In the following scriptures God shares some truth’s that we should never forget.  Prov 22:9 “A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor. And in Prov 19:17 “He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward him for what he has done.” NIV This is not why we give, we give because we realize all that Christ has done for us! It’s just something God said he wants us to do as his obedient children.

Thank you for praying & supporting the Children’s Home, Dr. Reyna, Pastor Tavita, and all the people you have allowed us to help spiritually and physically.  LaVerne and I thank God for you and your compassion for the people of Mexico.

We are excited about all that God has planned for you, the children we care for and this ministry. We pray for you as our partners and believe that as you give you will have a continual harvest, and that all your needs will be generously and abundantly met. 3rd John 1:2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
